Putting the money in the hands of the people would take it away from the prison/military industrial complexes. This is a brilliant move, plus it stimulates the economy immediately. Education is a non-deportable industry, as is health care, and building it makes a great deal of sense.

What a fantastic platform focused on solutions instead of just political rhetoric. We have 20 million Americans or more who are related to a prisoner. Since when is it acceptable to lock people in cages for profit and job creation? Think of the billions of dollars that we could save by giving re-trials to prisoners. The war and prison mongers are only in power due to the apathy of the people in doing organizing work. We can take them out and once again have The Right to the Pursuit of Happiness, which is long dead for millions of people. Obama is a corporate shill, I worked for him in the last election but he lost me with his lies and warmongering. If we elect him, he will lead us straight into war with Iran as economic stimulus. Getting the money into the hands of the people and out of the war and prison machines will work.
