Jobs Bonanza

What if we created a jobs bonanza by moving to a secure renewable energy economy rather than continuing to waste money on an unsustainable oil-addicted economy?

• There is no future in an oil-addicted economy.  When such an economy tries to grow, it triggers a rise in oil prices, and recession follows.

• An oil-addicted economy is a national security threat, because a single coup or civil war in a major oil-producing nation can trigger oil shortages that will bring our entire nation to its knees. If we are to have a secure green future, we must move rapidly to build an economy based on energy efficiency and renewable energy resources.

• Building the secure green future will result in a jobs bonanza.  It will provide tens of thousands of jobs for electricians, carpenters, architects, and small business people.  And every gallon of oil that is saved will result in more wealth circulating in our communities instead of going overseas. Importing oil is exporting jobs.

Politicians with close connections to fossil fuel industries are dragging their feet despite the urgency of this problem.  It will take a Governor free of such entanglements to get us moving toward the secure green future we deserve.  Jill Stein will be such a Governor.
