I am voting for Jill Stein this November for the same reason I was arrested with other Occupy demonstrators in front of Goldman Sachs. I do not want to be complicit in systems of corporate power, systems that if left unchallenged will doom the future for my children and your children.
As I recently wrote about in my endorsement of Jill Stein, it’s not about us anymore. It is all about protecting the planet for future generations. I urge you to join me in voting for a candidate who seeks to protect our eco-system and who represents the concerns of working and poor people.
We must combat the corporate state through small and large acts of defiance. We have a moral obligation to stand up and say no. By stepping outside the two party charade, by saying that we will not remain passive as the ecosystem is destroyed and the global economy reconfigured into a world of masters and serfs, we assert our independence, our dignity and ultimately our power.
Join us now to confront the climate crisis, the continued assault on civil liberties, the expansion of our imperial wars, the failure to regulate and prosecute the criminal behavior of Wall Street or the studied indifference to the chronic joblessness and chronic underemployment.
Together we can build a wide front to push back against corporate power and reject the political mandarins in each party who betray the citizenry to serve corporate interests.
Please give your money, your time and your vote to this campaign. And once the election is over, join us in acts of nonviolent civil disobedience.
